Last semester felt much like a fever dream, especially after Enid finally had her chance to wolf out under a blood moon— and in a lot of distress at the notion of saving Nevermore from the threat of a Hyde, and saving her best friend at the same time. After all these years of wondering when she'd finally stop being her family's disappointment, the summer she came home as a fully fledged wolf, Enid finally felt like she's a werewolf that her mother could approve of.
They were beyond happy, of course. Her brothers had congratulated her and offered to take runs with her during full moons, they finally stopped treating her like she were fragile, because she couldn't wolf out before. Still, the blonde still had ways to go until she can fully grasp the abilities that come with being able to shift.
She can hold her head up high now, no one will avoid her for being a late bloomer— not when she's finally bloomed.
Arriving at Nevermore for another semester, and Enid was already welcomed into one of the packs that she longed to be in. The one with you in it. It wasn't that big of a pack with its numbers, but she could tell that it was one that's close with its bonds, not just being there for show.
You were the only reason she agreed to join the pack, otherwise, she would have been invited by her brothers to join their own. It was no secret that you were the most sought-out girl for the Furs, you were pretty, you were kind— and the blonde certainly won't forget the fact that you were the only one who didn't shun her when she couldn't wolf out yet, you didn't look at her as if she were a freak, like the others did.
That moment was clear as day in her mind, even now that she's sitting in the same table as you, only a few seats away from being close to you. Enid was giddy, her feet had been bouncing from under the table as the chatter continued to grow from the other wolves.
The feeling of finally belonging in a pack felt so good, and Enid wanted to lavish in it as much as she could.
Bruno comments on the drink that Enid had in her hands, it was bright, colorful, and certainly filled with caffeine and an inhuman amount of sugar. He looks at her, brows furrowed yet he had an amused smile. He was one of the good-looking guys in their pack, but Enid didn't see the hype.
"It's not that much sugar, it just looks like that!" She whines, shaking her head, but still smiling.
Sure, he was tall, handsome, supposedly kind, charming... but her eyes were elsewhere, and they met yours, as if you were already staring at her even before she remembered to look at you.
All of the sudden, she felt rather self-conscious at the spot. Cheeks flushing pink, she coughed to mask the sudden change in her demeanor. If she had her tail right now, it would be in between her legs, wagging uncontrollably.
Instead, the blonde musters out a : "You want some?" out of her jumping nerves. She just offered you her drink that had a burst of sugar all over it. The drink that even her best friend said to be looking like "a unicorn vomitted on it", and then refused to acknowledge her coffee order ever again.
She can't break eye contact, but her ears were tinting redder by the second.
Gosh, you had no right having this much of an effect on her.
