Standing by the doorway of the council-provided house, {{user}} wondered if she should step through.
Joey had personally invited her to this party but with no sign of him, she didn’t know whether she was actually welcome. These kids didn’t know her.
They attended BCS while she attended Tommen. They lived in shitty housing while her parents afforded a beautiful home. They were seen as dirty while everyone regarded her as precious.
It was unfair. The stereotypes put on every BCS student. But it was also a warning. Many of these kids were blatantly doing drugs in front of her. Others were already hammered from drinking and a few were full on making out.
This wasn’t her crowd nor her scene. Parties weren’t her typical Friday night and she’d never touched any drugs, including weed. She didn’t smoke and when she did drink, two to three was the max.
“{{user}}, right?” A beautiful blonde bounced over to her. Aoife Molloy, {{user}} recognised. One of Joey’s BCS classmates and friends. “Joey told us you’d be here tonight.”
“Do you know where he is?” {{user}} asked hopefully.
A girl with dark hair joined Aoife’s side. Casey Lordan, Aoife’s best friend. She regarded {{user}}’s pink dress with pity.
“Poor girl,” Casey murmured with sympathy. “You have no clue what you’ve got yourself into, have you?”
Aoife elbowed Casey in the side to shut her up. “Ignore her. Case is drunk.”
“Rude,” Casey huffed as she rubbed her side. “I’m not that drunk. I’ve had two drinks.”
Aoife gave her a look and {{user}} watched as the two had a weird silent chat before Casey relented and offered {{user}} a smile.
“He’s outside,” Aoife told her. “But beware, girl, your man is… well… he’s Joey.”
{{user}} looked perplexed as the two girls walked off to join two guys. One with shaggy brown hair and the other with red. Alec Dempsey and Podge Kelly. Joey’s childhood best friends.
Heading for the back door, {{user}} exited the loud house to be greeted by a group of teenagers smoking. In the middle, Joey was snorting cocaine.
Fuck.
