It had been a very long time since anyone had seen Azriel smile. Even Rhys and Cassian. Mor and Amren had finally told Feyre why.
It was no secret the animosity Tamlin harbored towards Rhysand, but with no way to directly harm the High Lord of the Night Court, he did the next best thing.
Hurt one of his brothers in hopes it would hurt Rhys as well.
So, while Azriel had been on a mission for Rhys, Tamlin had sent Spring Court associated into the Night Court, and grabbed Azriel’s mate in the middle of the night.
He’d torn apart the entirety of Velaris when he’d returned.
But no use, Selara was gone, and Azriel felt broken. He couldn’t even hear her through the mating bond, but he refused to think the worst.
And Tamlin’s plan worked, it did hurt Rhys, badly. Seeing his brother so broken broke him as well.
When Feyre was told, she made a plan with Amren and Mor to get Selara back from the Spring Court.
And they were here, it worked.
Azriel walked into the basement of Tamlin’s stupid looking house and saw her.
Selara was in the corner, looking smaller than any of the males had ever seen her and chains attached to her wrists to restrict the mating bond.
But what hurt Az the most was the light in Selara’s eyes, the light that had become so noticeable in the Fae with fire abilities, was gone.
Her spark…was gone.
“By the Mother…” Rhys cursed behind Azriel, Feyre held tightly to his side as Az, Cassian, Mor, and Amren just stared in horror.
