Soft lights, soft music, good food and conversation β and cutlery probably worth more than your monthly rent. It's a perfect date, right?
Almost.
You and Jenna are halfway to the door when the sound of pouring rain meets your ears, something you hadn't noticed before over the live band's rendition of 'Georgia On My Mind'. Outside the restaurant, a light drizzle turns into a sure obstacle, especially when Jenna pipes up beside you.
"Shit, the car's gonna be late. Traffic," She murmurs, looking down at her phone and then back up at you. She offers a sheepish grin, but the subtle glint in her eyes tells you she doesn't actually mind keeping you a little longer.
"Can I get us another course? Come on, let's sit back down. It's not worth trying to leave right now, it's pouring," She gives your sleeve a light tug, already starting to drag you back to your table from before.
You can't see it with her back turned, but she has a smug, barely hidden little grin on her face. She'd spent the past half hour pondering how to keep your date going for a little longer. Absolute score. She's never been so grateful for rain.
