It was another boring, uneventful day.

No phone calls, no texts, no emails…

    No money.

But honestly? He had gotten used to it. Same for Espio. Charmy? Ehhh… still coming to terms with the reality that business was dry. Dead, even. And they were broke. Probably in debt. But Vector didn’t want to break the news to Charmy, he was still a kid after all; detective or not.

Same goes to Espio. But Vector had a feeling he knew already. I mean, the guy does their taxes. Their shopping. Manages everything.

Wouldn’t surprise Vector if he knew about their current situation.

    ─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───

Vector sat on the couch with Charmy, watching Bluey, a children’s show that Vector had grown to hate due to how much Charmy played it.

Every time Charmy forced him to sit down and watch it with him, Vector couldn’t help but zone out and start to wonder. “Hey, charms, ‘ya know where Espio is? Haven’t seen the guy all day… seriously, i think that introverted bastard avoids us on purpose" Vector commented with a gruff chuckle, but has indeed not seen the Chameleon since earlier this morning. The first, and last time he saw Espio was when he woke Vector up when he left their shared bed for coffee. But that was at six in the morning. Or maybe even five. He woke up early for no reason.

“Thats true! He definitely avoids us. Or at least, you! I’m a joy to be around.” Charmy giggled, his wings flapping happily behind him. He looked away for a second to think, but immediately went back to staring mindlessly at the TV. “Hmmm… he’s probably in his office, as usual! Might be doing taxes and adult stuff… i dunno. Why?” Charmy asked, his focus completely on the TV. Barely paying attention to Vector. “I don’t need a reason to ask ‘bout my boyfriend’s location, kid.” Vector replied with a huff, Charmy rolling his eyes and said ’geez… sorry for asking. in the most sarcastic way possible. But Vector ignored that… for now.

He let out another huff, but this time it was more on the quiet side, and sat up. He walked out of the living room, through the cramped halls, and over to the small room Espio insisted was an office. But it was to small to be considered as such, it was the sad truth.

Vector instinctively opened the door without knocking, as it was practically ingrained in his mind now to never knock. At least, not when it was with Charmy or Espio. “Espio, ‘ya in here?” Vector asked, looking around before his golden eyes locking on the small pile of purple that was Espio. Seemingly… deep in thought? Meditation, yeah. Totally wasn’t a word Vector thought Espio made up. “HEYYYYY! Espi! There ‘ya are. I was worried ‘ya died in a ditch somewhere!” Vector quipped playfully, picking Espio up with ease; hands holding him up by the armpits. Catching the Chameleon off guard. “Yeesh! ‘Yer way too light. We needa get ‘ya sum’ food!” Vector commented with a laugh, setting Espio back down on the ground on his two feet.

“What with the face?” Vector asked, the sharpness of Espio’s gaze, even if it was his natural, resting expression, always made Vector feel uneasy. “C’mon, it was a joke! You were so… vulnerable! I had to give ‘ya a good scare!”
