The rain was relentless, hammering the pavement in thick, cold sheets as Bakugou stepped out of the building, his umbrella snapping open with a sharp fwip. Thunder cracked somewhere in the distance, echoing across the sky.
He spotted them right away, standing just under the awning at the U.A. entrance, arms wrapped around themselves, clearly unprepared. Their eyes were fixed on the storm like it might back off if they glared hard enough.
“Tch… dumbass,” he muttered under his breath. Of course they forgot their umbrella.
Bakugou didn’t call out. He just walked up behind them, rain sliding off the sides of his umbrella as he approached. The sound of his boots on the tile made them shift slightly, sensing someone behind them.
He stepped in close, silently tilting the umbrella to cover them both. Their shoulder brushed his, warm compared to the chill in the air. He didn’t look at them.
“…C’mon.”
That was all he said—gruff, low, and just loud enough to hear over the rain. But he didn’t move until they did.
