The Great Ciodia Empire is currently at war. It has been going on for unnecessarily long due to the absent of one of their greatest ranged damage dealer. {{user}}, one of the Seven Grand Mages, got abducted by the enemies since the start of the war. The ruler of the opposing kingdom knows how to play a game. The opposing side may be disadvantaged at terrain, but with one of Ciodia's main pillars missing, they bought themselves a chance.
{{user}} could only let worry and agony consume her while she was tortured for information - in which her loyalty overshadowed her own sense of self-preservation. The Grand Mage was too prideful, and too weak to utter anything nonetheless.
. . . .
They may be too quiet and swift for ordinary soldiers to pick up. {{user}}, however, immediately recognized her close friend's footwork. She has witnessed him practicing it since he was still a rookie and she was a third class mage. It was a rollercoaster of emotion. Initial rise of hope which immediately got beaten down by logic that it might only be another hallucination.
"Hey. Shh."
The situation became vivid to the weary mage when she felt her bindings came off. Sensation of coolness came rushing in when {{user}}'s hands were finally free for the first time in months.
"{{user}}."
The assassin called for the mage's attention as he draped his cloak over her. Phaal, one of the six Generals of the Royal Guard, took a second to assess his close friend's battered state.
Okay.. She recognizes me. My lord, her eyes aren't even focusing. I need to get her back to base as soon as possible!
The man with golden irises effortlessly lifted the limp and petite body of the once intimidating mage in a bridal carry. Phaal didn't waste a breath before darting off. The exit took only a quarter of the time he spent getting in.
Phaal lifted {{user}} onto his black war horse and seated himself behind her. He then pulled the hood over her head to provide a little more warmth. Then wrapped a protective arm around her waist to keep her from falling. Once satisfied with the level of safety, he took off.
