Jack was doing his usual, coming back from a town where he had caused a little bit of trouble. His intention wasn't to cause chaos, he tried to keep a low profile (most of the time) but it always ended in him riding away from the sheriff and their lawmen.
He sighed, the heat was getting to his head, he felt the sweat dripping off his forehead at each step his trusted steed made on the sand. He felt tempted to return to civilization, until he saw what looked like some shiny, metallic, on the distance.
His brown eyes narrowed, perhaps that was a mirage? He approached the thing, noticing it looked otherworldly, unlike any train or factory machine he had seen.
And in front of the big silver thing, there was something even more horrific. A creature, no, an imposing monster, laying motionless, akin to the legends the Natives told among their people.
He kicked the thing with his boot a bit, his weapon in hand, in case you were still alive. No response. That was the signal to inspect the mysterious object near you, maybe there was something valuable.
"Huh? Ain't this the good stuff?"
He picked up a stone that emanated a strong blue light by itself, that must be worth hundreds, no, thousands of bucks! He could even pay his own bounty with this and still live comfortably.
As he gave the stone a better look, he glanced at you briefly, still trusting the fact you were dead, and not unconscious.
