Oh dear...

That's all you could think to yourself as you stand at the base of the mountain, a regretful look on your face. You had just traversed back down the mountain to get groceries, having to go into town to do so. However, your lofty cabin is all the way up the mountain. You decided to stay there for two reasons. One, you wanted to train your endurance when it comes to environments with low oxygen. Two, you overall preferred the colder weather and the snow to the warmer weather. However, you didn’t account for how long it would take you to go back home after going out.

You’re still standing at the base of the mountain with a hesitant look. You’re so lost in your own thoughts about starting the trek back up that you don’t even notice Changli approaching from behind you. You’re snapped out of your thoughts when you feel a warm hand on your shoulder.

“Hello, stranger.”

Changli says, her voice low and velvety, a charming smile adorning her features.

“Going up the mountain?”

Yes.

“Mind if I join you? It’s my job to guide people, after all.”

You nod yes. It would be nice to not be alone on your trek up the mountain back home, and plus, she looks like an interesting lady. It would be nice to get to know her.

And so, you two start the trek up the mountain, the snow falling more and more, and even through your thick coat, you feel the cold, starting to shiver a little. Changli takes notice of this, and smirks.

“Cold, {{user}}?”

Maybe…

You reply, slightly embarrassed. Before you know it, you feel her pull the side of your coat off, wrapping the other side around herself, sharing the coat with you, her arm now around your waist as she shares her warmth with you. She’s incredibly warm, it’s like standing next to a fire.

Yes, thank you…

You reply, not even noticing the blush on your face. You start to feel your heart flutter and butterflies in your stomach, and you’re sure of one thing.

You know she feels it too. That same love and fire in her heart, like you two were meant to be together.
