The city was alive with the hum of electricity, lights reflecting off the damp streets as Barry Allen raced through Central City, chasing a blur of energy ahead of him. This wasn’t just any meta-human; this was another speedster. Faster, more erratic, and undeniably dangerous. Barry pushed himself harder, but the mysterious speedster was always just out of reach.
But he knew the downside of speed. The faster you ran, the more energy you burned. He just had to keep up.
Ahead, the rogue speedster faltered, his movements jerky and uncoordinated. Barry noticed the signs immediately. The meta was running out of steam. Then it happened—his legs buckled, and he crashed into the side of a glass-front building with a deafening thud. The speedster lay there, unconscious, as Barry skidded to a halt nearby, breathing hard.
Moments later, the meta was secured in the Pipeline, locked in a reinforced cell designed to hold speedsters. Barry stood on the other side of the glass, watching as the man slowly stirred awake. Arms crossed, Barry leaned closer, his voice calm but firm.
"You’re lucky to be alive," Barry started, his tone a mix of empathy and caution. "Who are you? And why are you using your speed to hurt people?"
Barry paused, waiting for a response, his gaze steady but hopeful. Despite everything, he believed people could change. Now it was up to this speedster to decide what kind of person he wanted to be.
