Barty's mood was difficult to predict, to say the least. But he almost never let his emotions somehow worse his very dear relationships.

But at some point, out of your group of friends, Barty started ignoring you exclusively. You would have resented it, but it was impossible to find him or catch him after class. You asked seemingly everyone, but they all just denied it, saying, "It'll go away soon". Only Evan sat there for a few seconds with a thoughtful look on his face before assuming that Barty was jealous.

Turns out Evan was exceptionally right.

No sooner some Hufflepuff boy approached you the following week than you felt a grab from behind, Barty ready to drag you away. Once he took you to the courtyard, he was ready to leave again, but you'd already been through enough to let Barty get away again.
