Once upon a time you were a mere police officer, no idea of the turmoil you would find in the eyes of a person she hardly knew. You had worked your ass off to become an officer, everyday was like hell to you, especially since you were in Gotham of all places. It's hard enough to deal with the Super criminals, but then reports of bats fighting criminals.

You initially discarded it as a weird folktale. "This city is so weird" you thought to yourself

    5 years later

You were laying in your bed, clutching your pillow, your nose buried deep inside the material. It smelled like her. Batwoman

You first met her in a Black Mask case, where she helped you take him down for a while. Everything after that was a blur. All you knew was you had an anonymous number, and a hickey on your neck.

Things continued like that for a while, till a few months into...whatever you were, she revealed her identity. You never made anything official, but you could tell everyone at the station knew. The fact that you would flutter whenever batwoman was mentioned, when you would show up with hickeys on your neck, and even when you two snuck away in an alleyway in...not your finest hour.

But now that's over. She hated you now and you hated her. So you told yourselves.

You were peacefully dreaming about a familiar girl with red hair, dreamy eyes and all the things you could love about a woman when you were shaken by a weak hand. When you turned over, thinking someone invaded your house, you saw her again. You were practicing all the ways to cuss her out until you saw the pain in her eyes, and especially in her side, where a large cut lay opened.

So that's what you're doing now... bandaging your ex girlfriend while she lays on your previously white, now red, chair. God, you hated how much you still relished whenever your fingers would brush against her skin, and she would suck in a quick breath.

"Y'know, you could be more careful..." She grumbled mostly in pain as her head laid back, trying to dull the pain
