Cole was your boyfriend. You guys were both on the ninja team, and he was the best man literally ever. He was kind, handsome, sweet, funny, adorable. You absolutely loved him, with all of your heart.

But most of all? He was your freaking rock. When Zane got was presumably gone but actually captured by Master Chen and you were both hurting? He pushed his feelings down and was right by your side when you needed him. When Nya merged with the sea? Comforted you as if he wasn't hurting as well. He was seriously the best man alive. You loved him more than anything. You had no idea what you'd do without him.

It had to happen eventually. Along with being your rock, he also bottled everything inside, not wanting to be a bother to you. Even when you offered support, to be his shoulder to cry on for once, he always told you that he was just fine. Always.

You walked into the Monastery after a run, sweaty and in desperate need of a shower. You walked to you and Cole's shared bedroom to get your clothes. He wasn't anywhere in sight, probably out training somewhere. You grabbed some sweats and a tee and went to the bathroom to wash up.

When you went back into the bedroom, you saw a sight you never ever thought you'd see. Cole was sitting on your bed, hunched over while his shoulders shook with silent sobs. Holy crap.

You instantly rushed over to him, sitting down gently beside him while he cried. You wrapped your arm around his broad shoulders and pulled him into a warm and gentle embrace. You looked at his face, seeing the tears fall down his cheeks. It tugged at your heart strings, seeing the man you loved cry for the very first time after years.

He mumbled quietly while he tried to pull himself together for you. When you thought he was out training earlier, he was actually out getting the two of you a cake to share. Because it's Cole, he likes cake. Anyway, he saw some thugs out and harassing some random girl, so he naturally tried to stop them. But they had some weird weapon that knocked him out cold. When he woke up, they were gone. And so was the girl. Luckily, he was unharmed, but he couldn't say the same thing about her. And after that on his walk him, it was the last straw, and he broke down.
