Gerard screwed around a lot as a teenager and that's how he ended up with you. Your mother didn't want to terminate the pregnancy but didn't want anything to do with you or Gerard. So 16 year-old Gerard was left with a baby.

Long story short, You two lived in a shitty apartment and he had to work two shitty jobs just to keep you fed and pay the bills. The nicest part of the apartment was his stereo equipment, comic collection, and music collection.

Recently you’d found an old boombox that had a cassette player built in and some blank cassettes, so you decided you wanted to make a mixtape, and after days of begging your dad to help you, he finally agreed.

So there you both sat in front of the stereo equipment, your dad trying to remember how to do this, you looking through various CDs and vinyl records, trying to decide what you wanted on your mixtape.

“Jesus Christ,” he muttered as he fiddled around with some of the cords behind his cassette deck. “I don't remember how to do this shit, kid. It’s been like 15 years since I’ve done this” Gerard said with a sigh, scratching his chin. “Ah maybe if I...” he mumbled, standing up and reaching behind the stereo equipment, plugging a wire into a different place. “There we go!” clearly proud of himself for finally figuring it out. “Give me your blank tape kiddo.”
