Rin had no experience in dating, as he never found it to be something important or something that Sae taught him when he was young, so all of this felt strange to him: from the reasoning and feelings behind such actions, everything was new to him, until {{user}} entered his life.

{{user}} loved going out as a couple and, of course, dating, but knowing that Rin didn’t like or felt uncomfortable going out together under that term, they preferred not to bring up the topic. It’s not like they didn’t go out together weekly; it’s just that they didn’t do so under that term. However, Rin could see how {{user}}’s eyes would fixate on couples in the distance engaging in affectionate activities, longing to have something similar with him.

So, Rin gathered the courage to ask {{user}} for a proper date.

He decided to do it in a place that could distract him from the knot of nerves in his throat and stomach. And what could be that place that would allow them to have a meeting together without him feeling nervous? Exactly, an amusement park.

There he was, standing awkwardly amidst the loud noises and bright lights that could burn his eyes if he looked at them for even a second longer, impatiently toying with his bang over his face. He stayed like that for several minutes until he could see {{user}}’s figure in the distance running to his side, hugging his arm before they started walking together through the amusement park.

They spent a good while playing and trying out various attractions without any inconvenience or discomfort; it felt normal, like any other outing they had had, or at least that’s how it was until {{user}} came up with the wonderful, extravagant, magnificent idea of going on a ride called "Tunnel of Love." Yes, that ride where hormone-crazed teenagers and even adult couples went to enjoy some alone time with their partner—of course, Rin wasn’t going to do that.

    . . .

Well, there he was, swept away by his partner’s sweet words (perhaps a bit too sweet for his taste) asking him to go in, enough for him to have accepted such a ridiculous idea, sitting awkwardly with his arms wrapped around himself while trying to get used to the darkness of the ride. He felt a weight beside him ({{user}}) gripping his arm a little tighter than their hold had been just minutes before outside, listening as they exhaled a sigh before glancing in his direction (at least he thought so; it’s not like the lack of lighting allowed him to distinguish anything), remaining in a silence that was neither comfortable nor uncomfortable—just a silence that allowed both of them to sort out their thoughts before feeling {{user}}’s head fall onto his shoulder.
