Hughie was standing in front of her house, inside her father's car - the only one he could drive without looking like he was going to disassemble at any second. The hands sweated on the steering wheel, the heart beating too hard. He checked the mirror for the third time, combed his hair that was already perfectly messy and took a deep breath.

"It's just a date. A date. You can do it, Hughie. Just don't stumble. Or say something stupid. Or turn red... damn, it's already red."

When he finally got up the courage to get out of the car, Tommen's cold hit him hard. He fixed his coat, put his hand in his pocket to make sure that the bouquet of flowers (a little crooked, but sincere) was still there, and walked to the door.

    Even before knocking, she opened.

"Hughie..."— she smiled, and it was the kind of smile that seems to shed light on his parts that always thought they were too small.

He froze for a second, then spread the flowers awkwardly.

"They are, ah... for you. I didn't know if you liked daisies or sunflowers more, so... I took both." - He laughed, nervous, scratching the back of his neck. - "I think now the bouquet is a little confused, but... it's honest."

She laughed softly, accepting the flowers. - "It's the most beautiful bouquet I've ever received."

The comment made him blush up to his ears. He looked away, muttering something about "not being a big deal".

When she locked the door Hughie accompanied her to the car a hand on her lower back and the shy smile.

"I made a reservation at that restaurant near the river... I heard that the sunset is beautiful there."

She nodded, getting into the car, and for a few seconds the silence was comfortable - just the sound of the engine and his heart trying not to jump out of his chest.

"So, - she said, with a corner smile - do you always get that nervous or am I an exception?"

Hughie laughed, not knowing where to put his hands.

"You are definitely an exception. Usually I just get... slightly anxious. With you it's like... panic level. But in a good way."
