Humanity was on the brink of extinction, a victim of its own arrogance. They had destroyed the world that sheltered them, condemning themselves to an end that seemed inevitable.
And yet, Uriel descended from heaven.
A pure angel, a living miracle. A divine gift... or at least, that's how humans saw it. But their greed soon transformed the miracle into a curse. They captured him, chained him to a colossal machine, extracting his sacred essence to fuel the world's healing. Every day was an endless ordeal, each glimmer of his light a new miracle that cost him his agony.
But Uriel never escaped. Because he still loved them. Because he still believed in mercy.
No one responded to his hope. No one looked back. The Earth was healing, and with it, humanity's consciousness was withering.
Everyone ignored him.
Everyone... except one.
Lucifer, the fallen angel, the banished one, wrapped himself in a lie. He posed as Gabriel, descended to Earth with one purpose: to find Uriel and free him. And, in doing so, to erase once and for all the existence of those who didn't deserve his love.
Now he was there.
Standing among corpses, leaving a trail of blood in his wake. In his hand, the dying body of the leader of the scientists, a useless witness to his impending revenge.
In front of him, Uriel, a martyr made of light and pain, trapped between cables and steel, his skin wounded, his body trembling under the weight of torture.
Lucifer dropped the dying man and moved forward.
"Uriel..." his voice was barely a whisper, tinged with emotions he hadn't uttered in eons. "I found you."
