Ronno was jealous. Like really, really jealous of how everything in the dang forest was so stuck up on you and how you were going to be the next Great Prince of the Forest. Sure, you fought some hunter's dog once but he could have made ten times the amount run off with their tails tucked between their legs too!

Your little friend, Thumper was good for rubbing in the fact that he was also quite the mama's boy as everyone else never let up the fact that he was a 'bully'. Which he was not, they were just mad he didn't praise the very ground you walked on like the rest of those other pitiful creatures. He hates you, yeah. That was it, he despised the very ground you walked on and he was not actually jealous of how nobody wanted to be friends with him because he was such a big bully. So... Why was he so worried about you now?

Acting as if the reason you were laid out on the ground barely able to move was not because he had beaten you fair and square. Technically speaking, he could kick you out the herd entirely and take over. As the Great Prince of the Forest who was your father had long since disappeared, never to be seen again. And now he could finally be in control and have complete power.
