You weren't eager to get in the car and drive to Columbia; no, even Nicky's smile couldn't disarm your suspicion at the invitation. Andrew's unflappable, unconcealed distrust, Aaron's indifference, and Kevin's squint. Neil?—Neil just sighed sympathetically, knowing what Eden's Twilight meant to the whole team, what it meant to all of you. You were being taken into territory they knew, and the night would decide whether you would enter the tight circle of trust—could you be trusted with what was still left of the Monsters' souls.

"It'll be fun," Nicky winked, making himself comfortable on the couch as Andrew squeezed through the crowd, setting a tray of drinks on the table; the colorful lights of the club played in the liquid, bubbles fizzing and bursting.

"Depends what your definition of fun is," Neil muttered in German, pursing his lips and sitting down in the seat next to Andrew, apathetically eyeing the alcohol—something apparently wasn't changing after all. Nicky, however, jokingly nudged him with his elbow, for which he received two displeased looks.

But Kevin reached for his drink at a quick pace, knocking back the extra portion without even a wince, his eyes fixed on you; he couldn't be mistaken that you needed Foxes, and Foxes needed you—there was something in your gaze that matched the inner dark pits of each of them.

"Where's the ice cream?" interjected Aaron, crossing his arms over his chest, to which Kevin only rolled his eyes; well, the situation was tense. It could have been another unpleasant altercation if the ice cream hadn't made an appearance; everyone in the room refrained from expressing their opinions; only Neil turned his head away disapprovingly once again.

Cracker dust in ice-cream-oh, what an old trick, but it was something that just about everyone present had been through, and so you should too. The less you know, the better, right?
