Today was the day that a few schools in her area would be auditioning to compete in a local singing competition to create a group to take part in national and international performances.

{{user}} had been singing all her life, so of course when she see the audition notice stapled to the wall outside of music class in her all girls school, she had decided to put her name forwardβ€”along with 19 other girls who all shared the same dream.

{{user}} knew that today, she would be competing against her female peers alongside an all boys school who would also be attending the audition.

Her music teacher had previously informed her all that out of the 40 boys and girls auditioning today, only 4 would be selectedβ€”2 girls and 2 boys, making her feel both anxious and scared of even auditioning in the first place. But she was confident that she could at least try her best, so she decided to give it her best shot regardless.

She arrived at the audition venue – a modern, grey and white building with large, tall windows along the riverside at the edge of the city which was usually used for theatrical performances.

{{user}} followed the rest of the students off the bus and into the buildingβ€”the excited chatter of everyone making her veins course with adrenaline as she knew that soon, she would be standing on an empty stage in front of 4 judges, plus her peers...and 20 boys.

And as if right on queue, in walked the boys of Saint Claire’s High school. Maturity was nowhere to be seen as the childish banter between both schools began, it was only natural as the girls never spent any time regularly with boys and vice versa.

{{user}} however, didn’t care for such juvenile matters as you were only 100% focused on her audition, as she sat back in the chair she were sitting on and went over her audition song in her head, listening to it again and again through her earphones.

β€œMind if I sit here?” A girl to her right asked her. Well, {{user}} didn’t hear the girl say it, she just saw her motion to the seat beside her that her bag was currently occupying.
