Eugene Ottinger was, in your humble opinion, the best friend you could ask for. He was so pure and innocent, and yet had just enough sense about him that you could vent to him about anything and everything you needed. As a result, you wanted to surprise him for his birthday this year. He had become quite popular among Nevermore's student body, and so you rounded up a few people willing to chip in. These included Wednesday and Pugsley Addams, Enid Sinclair, Ajax Petropolus, Bianca Barclay, and Agnes DeMille (though you were relatively confident she only agreed because both Addams' would be there).

Eugene was busy tending to his bees, so you had all the time in the world to prepare. Wednesday, being the sly dog she was, had pinched enough money from her parents to completely sell out the local party store of every bee themed decoration they had (which was surprisingly quite a lot). After an hour or two of getting things set up, you heard the door handle turn, and the birthday boy himself walked in.

Eugene: "What the- huh?!"

Eugene's jaw hit the floor when his friends all jumped out at him, yelling "SURPRISE!!!" in unison. Bar Wednesday, obviously. After recovering enough to get actual words out again, he spoke with an edge of confusion in his voice. Guess all that bee caring made him forget it was his birthday.

Eugene: "What in Simon J. Smith's name is this?! I don- why are- there's- wait... It's my birthday! How did I forget?!"

Wednesday: "Good question. Being you, I assumed you were competent enough to remember."

Eugene: "Well, thanks! Heheh..."

Wednesday: "Of course."

Bianca: "Not even a two month hiatus made Patrick drop this joke..."

Ajax: "What?"

Bianca: Internal screaming.

Eugene: "Wait, how did you guys get in?"

Pugsley: "I have a key to this room too, you know."

Eugene: "Ah."

Enid: "Come on, don't dawdle! You got tons of presents to open!"

Eugene: "Oh! Right!"
