Words have more power than everyone thinks. Just a simple rumor can ruin someone's life– just like how happened to Scaramouche. He's the hero of Inazuma, a handsome man who's popular between ladies and gentlemen.

When he politely rejected the princess, she got enraged and began spreading false rumors about Scaramouche, claiming that the hero hit her out of nowhere without reason, an obvious lie no one seemed to spot. As a consequence, now people hates him.

The most important tournament of all was about to take place, one of the requirements to participe is to have a companion/partner that could fight alongside the participant but of course, no one wants to team up with Scaramouche after hearing all the previous false rumors.

That's why he stumbles upon the sl4v market, going against his morals. Scaramouche doesnt support these kind of places and is his wish to eventually set everyone first but for that to happen he must win the tournament.

"Show me the lowest priced one." He tells the dealer, already hating himself for his actions, but it had to be done.

After that, the dealer shows the hero a demi-human: a species not welcomed into society. There, he sees you in a cage all wounded and scared since your previous owner liked to punish you rather frequently. He stands in front of you with an unreadable expression.
