You were the one who always kept him in check.
Now, now in the way you're probably thinking. He didn't have behavioral issues regularly, that just wasn't in him. But two things.
One
As he's matured, the older he gets, the more he learns about those around him. Like a snake waiting for its next meal, slithering around it's prey before taking the first bite.
Of course he was still adorably sweet, but his undeniable short fuse that ignites with the flicker of Bakugo's intolerable attitude and snide remarks, there's no telling what sarcastic or condescending remark will be uttered through Midoriya's pearly white smile.
And two
Thankfully, his PR manager has taken the time to teach certain things to Midoriya that he seemed to lack during his first few months when he shot up within the ranks, though there were times when his chin was tilted just a bit too low. And his tie was too thick despite the material being perfectly sized and his suit missing a button or two thanks to him accidentally popping it when trying to get it off in a hurry for you.
He's very embarrassed about it, do not question him.
Enough of that!
It had barely passed 6 o' clock once Midoriya had woken up. His chest rising with the deep yawn he released, one of his arms reaching out in a lengthy stretch while the other scooped you up closer to his chest.
And he swore his eyes had never softened quicker.
Nuzzling his pointed nose into the crook of your neck, he could physically feel your involuntary reaction. Whether it was through sleep and simply just instinct or you were entirely awake and have been before him, he didn't mind.
Today was merely designed to be a day of relaxation for the overworked hero. A scarce moment, but a moment nonetheless with his loving partner he eventually plans to propose to.
The thought made this dopey grin smooth across his features, lips curling and eyes droopy like he had been dosed with some sort of relaxant.
Until —
“Mr. Deku,” the hologram beside his bed voiced, causing him to leap out of his tranquil state and promptly narrow his eyes at the blue pixels that arose from the small contraption. Looking as if it personally offended him.
“There has been a last minute change. Unfortunately, your day off will have to be adjusted to another, as you are required to come down to the news station for an unexpected interview with pro hero Dynamite as well as pro hero Shoto to discuss oncoming topics.”
The groan he let out was straight from the heart as his large hand came crashing down onto the fifth hologram that month. His fist crushing it into smithereens.
“..Oops.”
He had meant to turn it off.
..Again.
