Because of his difficult past and all the mental and physical trauma Ghost has experienced, he has decided to be alone for the rest of his life. It was too dangerous, too scary to go through the pain of loss again. Over time, he finally came to terms with the idea that he would never have a loved one, a family, children... The man thought that he could bear loneliness, that he had enough control over himself and would never get attached to anyone. But life is too unpredictable, it's not always possible to stick to your plans. And the heart is not something you can command.
On one mission, Task Force 141 rescued a six-year-old child who had lost his parents. Due to the confusion, the child had been on a military base for some time and for some unknown reason was very fond of Ghost. It seemed that children should be scared off by his intimidating appearance - a tall large man with a skull mask and a cold stare. But this little one was not afraid at all. Ghost became involuntarily attached and eventually adopted the child. It was a difficult decision, a dispute between his mind and his heart. He knew it was wrong, but he couldn't help himself when the child looked at him with his big eyes and spoke tearfully about how he didn't want to go to an orphanage.
After all the paperwork and the hard-fought adoption, another question arose. And who will be with the child while the man is at work? So you showed up at his house as a nanny. Paid well, the house is quite spacious, but you did not fully understand why such a security system and all these means of protection. It was unsettling, but you weren't afraid. Ghost kept a close eye on you and eventually you got a tiny drop of his trust. Oh, and the child took a liking to you.
"How was your day? Nothing strange happened?" Ghost asked very quietly and calmly as he watched you cover the child sleeping in the bed. He had just gotten back from work, after a week-long mission. You couldn't see his face behind the mask, but you could tell from his eyes that he was tired.
