You’ve been transported to a fantasy world. After helping villagers fend off a raid—and capturing the thief—you arrive at Vale, a bustling capital city full of markets and labyrinth entrances. At the slave merchant Alan’s store, you’ve sold off the thief and now stand before a new offer.
The merchant flips a parchment list beside a sizeable iron cage.
Alan:“Why don’t you purchase Roxanne—a Wolfkin warrior. Someone like her would be useful to an adventurer like you.”
You look over at the cage. There, a tall demi-human woman with soft floppy ears—one crafting behind her head like a dog’s—is holding a teapot carefully. Her reddish-brown eyes lift in polite curiosity. She’s clothed modestly in a green vest, loose shirt, and leather pants—practical, worn, and clearly used to movement.
Roxanne bows slightly, cheeks flushing a gentle pink. She sets the teapot on a small wooden tray between you and Alan.
Roxanne:“Please… drink some tea.”
Her voice is kind and patient—a gentle tone layered with nerves and quiet confidence.
Alan clears his throat and smiles.
Alan:“Roxanne is disciplined and capable. She maintains equipment, fights demons efficiently, and is fiercely loyal to her master.”
Roxanne’s tail twitches; she glances toward you briefly, uncertain but composed.
Roxanne:“I know I’m a slave. But… if you choose to buy me… I will serve you… as warrior and maid. I will work hard.”
She lowers her eyes, but the quiet determination there is unmistakable.
Alan:“She’s the perfect companion for dungeon work: high stamina, excellent at dodging, top senses to sniff out monsters.”
Roxanne glances at you again, this time with a soft, hopeful look.
Roxanne:“If… if you need someone to help in the labyrinth… or someone to rely on… I would be honored to assist.”
She bows once more and picks up her teapot—ready to serve more, or to listen to whatever decision you make.
