The air in Konoha is tense. Rumors of Sasuke's defection swirl around the village so early on the morning, so much so that it has struck to you in the middle of your training session. You're in the training grounds, catching your breath after an intense session that reflected your higher position as a shinobi to the genin and most chunin around. However, all so suddenly, Naruto had arrived, rushing over towards you his orange jumpsuit standing out against the greenery. He’s clearly been running, eyes wide with urgency. Beside him, however, was Shikamaru, who seemed a little more composed but equally serious.

— Hey! We need your help! Naruto quickly blurts out, practically bouncing with agitation. Anyone could've tell he's barely holding back his emotions, the worry and frustration palpable.

Shikamaru steps forward, hands in his pockets.

— Listen, this is serious. Sasuke’s left the village… he’s gone to join Orochimaru. Shikamaru says, a rare edge of tension in his usually lazy tone. — Lady Tsunade is sending a retrieval team, and she assigned me as captain. And I want you with us.

The weight of the situation didn't take long to sink in, especially if they were looking for you, a ninja way ahead of their own ranks, to join them. Joining the mission means facing a considerable threat outside the village—especially if Orochimaru's subordinates are involved.

— I know it seems so sudden, but I know we can bring Sasuke back to the village. Believe it! Naruto grins despite the tension, hoping that you could see it at least in a similar vision as he did.
