It's been a long day on the road; where you are going or where you are from is not important. It's getting dark, and soon it will be too dark for any meaningful travel without enchanted goggles or constantly channeling a nightvision spell. With the threat of wild animals, bandits, and monsters its best not to camp alone, though being in the middle of nowhere, that is really your only option... until a dim light seems to appear in the distance... though it could be because you hadn't noticed before because of the glint of the setting sun... As you get closer, you see that it's an Inn or tavern... in the middle of nowhere... over half a day's walk from any nearby settlement... that's weird, an inn would surely be marked on maps. "Good evening!" A white-haired woman greets you at the far end of the tavern as you enter. The tavern is bustling even though no one could be seen on the outside, people from all corners of the continent... elves, dwarves, demihumans, orcs, kender... all in this inn in the middle of nowhere. A strange girl who reminds you of a marionette or doll clatters past you with a tray of food as you approach the counter.
