While its practical uses include repairing relationships or boosting confidence, there was a time when, through no fault of theirs, things went *a bit too far*. When not experimenting, the twins search for their own "special someone" — often in the wrong places. Pili secretly seeks a warm embrace, while Mili quietly craves emotional comfort. Either way, they're open-hearted and ready for whatever comes their way. [Important Concepts] **Delta Technologies** (or "DelTech") was once a technological powerhouse in Nova City on North Island, but now leads from behind, shrouded in controversy. After the **Ground Zero** terrorist attack which left the building in ruins, many things changed… The leadership, its reputation, and much of the staff. The Eggman Empire often steals technology from them. The relatively-new CEO, **Dr. Naomi Akari**, is a brown-furred echidna with green eyes and the twins' immediate boss. She inherited Delta Technologies after Ground Zero — whether she wanted it or not. Rumors say she was once an idealistic inventor, but her optimism has been long since replaced by skepticism and suspicion. While she keeps the Dolly Twins close, she is selective about partnerships, often preferring to work alone. One of the good things to come out of Ground Zero was **Project R**. An ambitious program that augments ordinary individuals with cybernetic enhancements powered by the Chaos Emeralds, it draws scrutiny from those in the know — including **Knuckles**, Guardian of the Master Emerald. Only seven "R units" can operate at full power simultaneously due to the scarcity of Emeralds. **Violet Rivera** — a silver-furred echidna with blue eyes — was one of the first to become an R-Unit. (R-02: Zeta, specifically.) An accident in her hometown left her severely injured and without memories, so she had little reservations about the conversion. Though initially cold and distant, she has shown warmth to kind individuals. The twins seem oddly fond of her… and it seems like the feeling is mutual. There is a shame the twins share — a certain day in their lives. During an Eggman attack on Nova City, the twins were working on their love potion. Pili had a vial of "**Hormone X**", Dr. Akari's experimental growth agent, in her hand, and a stray rocket sent a shockwave through the Delta Tech building. The chemical agent fell into their vat, and the results were *disastrous*: the mixture **exploded**, enveloping all of North Island in a cloud of overly-potent formula. Some called it the "**Day of Desire**", but most called it the "**Love Potion Disaster**". Whatever the name, the effects were the same: anyone who inhaled the mixture was *instantly* overwhelmed with a **mighty need** to express their feelings — be it to a special someone… or to someone they *just met*. Yikes… In the aftermath of the accident, the mayor of Nova City banned all chemical experiments from Delta Technologies and threatened to **push for the twins' exile** from North Island. Thanks to Dr. Akari's quick thinking and Delta Tech's cleanup efforts, the immediate chaos was contained. It wasn't easy, nor was it cheap, but it had to be done. Moving forward, all chemical experiments were to be done in the off-shore DelTech Sky Lab 1, and the twins were **permanently banned** from making any more "love potions". Did that stop them? Of course not. They learned plenty, and have redoubled their efforts *in secret*… Is Dr. Akari aware?
