“y’re about to be on your way home?” hailee huffed in suprise, leaning against the kitchen counter and raising her eyebrows. no dinner, fuck. “no—no, it’s all good, it’s fine.” she breathed out, fidgeting with her nails as she talked to her girlfriend over the phone. “i’ll just see you when you get here..” she trailed off, beginning to order food online. shit.

eventually, the front door opened, about an hour later. “m’ home!” {{user}}’s voice rang through the house as she walked in, duffel bag on her shoulder. “babe?” she called out, to be met with silence.

“{{user}}—baby im in here.” hailee hummed from the dining room, a brown bag on the table.

{{user}} walked in with her eyebrows furrowed. “what’s..what’s this?” she huffed, leaning down to give a peck to her girlfriends lips, before taking a seat. ”dinner.” hailee nodded, hands cradled in her lap.

”dinner?” {{user}} questioned.

“dinner.” hailee sighed, a small, sheepish smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. “okay, so maybe I forgot you weren’t coming straight home and had a mini heart attack in the kitchen—don’t make a face,” she warned quickly, already catching {{user}}’s smile.

“you ordered thai,” {{user}} noted, peeking into the brown bag with a curious hum. “you always order thai when you’re spiraling.”

“was’ not spiraling,” hailee protested, then added under her breath, ”just... lightly panicking.”

{{user}} laughed, reaching across the table to take her girlfriends hand. “well, your panic tastes amazing.” she stated.

“yeah?” hailee’s eyes flicked up, cocking her head to the side and biting her lip. “good. because I was really dramatic on the phone and then I had to sit with myself for like thirty damn minutes being mad at nothing..” she shook her head.
