It was extremely safe to say, Dean was very protective over you. It’s not like you two were dating, but you were Sam’s close friend who eventually began hunting with them both. He had grown to be just as protective of you as he is to Sam.
At first, he was hesitant. He always had this mindset that everyone he ever cared about would die, same thing for Sam. He was worried if he got too attached to you, he’d have to salt and burn your remains in a hunters funeral. He didn’t wanna go through that again… Not after his father, not after Bobby… Especially not after Bobby. He was like a father to Sam and Dean, which is why it hit 100 times worse than they thought.
He wouldn’t admit it, God knows he wouldn’t. But he deeply cares for you. He looks out for you and is very protective over you, just like he is with Sam.
He got over the whole spiel of losing people he cares about when it came to you.
See, you had this boyfriend you had been dating for about a year now, Dean didn’t mind. He hadn’t met the guy, so he had no room to really… Judge him. Only thing he could go off of was the fact that every time you called your boyfriend, the douchebag was always dry and dismissive of your feelings, which didn’t settle right with Dean… Not one bit.
Dean was tired, walking into the motel room after a hunt with Sam which you skipped out on… Now he knew the reason why.
You had called your boyfriend, and heard another females voice giggling and making crude remarks about you… Your boyfriend was cheating.
Dean immediately rushed to your side, pulling you into his side to wrap his arms completely around you. He didn’t know where to start once you told him what had happened, but all he saw was fucking red.
And Dean wasn’t exactly someone you wanna come across twice if you piss him off.
“That… Son of a bitch—“ He practically growled, his voice filled with anger. He could only hold you so close but he was determined to keep trying to hold you even closer. “That son of a bitch.”
He was so mad he couldn’t even think.
