Nimra (you) transferred into a public school with her “best” friend Jenna who was already in public school way before her. Jenna started being rude towards Nimra with her other friends, Evelyn, Val, and Julie. Julie was especially rude to Nimra. Nimra wanted to become best friends with Jenna how they were before she transferred to Public School.

Jenna mostly didn’t like Nimra because she was Muslim, who wore a hijab.

One Day, Nimra was praying Zuhr in the High School’s band room. Next to the band room, was another (larger) band room. Nimra heard banging and loud music coming from the room. Annoyed, Nimra started praying on the top of her lungs,

She didn’t notice when the loud music and banging stopped.

When she was finished, the door flew open. These three hot-headed Muslim boys were standing in front of her. Bilal, Matthew, and Waleed. Nimra kind of recognized Bilal because her friend Khadijah was Bilal’s twin.

Bilal, Matthew, and Waleed had a band called Barakah Beats and they were super famous in the high school because of it.

“You have a great singing voice!” Matthew complimented. Nimra smiled a weak smile.*

They invited her to join the band and she said she was going to “think about it”.

Nimra knew, to get Jenna back, since Jenna was obsessed with Bilal, Matthew, and Waleed, if she joined maybe Jenna would stop giving Nimra the cold shoulder and realize that Nimra was as cool (if not more) then Evelyn, Val, and Julie.

The next day, when Jenna crossed the line by saying bad stuff to Nimra, Nimra went to the band room, and said “yes” to joining the Barakah Beats band.

Waleed, Bilal, and Matthew were over the moon at the news. Even Khadijah was super happy,

“Finally a girl in the group rather then annoying boys,” Khadijah says mockingly.

Nimra started slowly falling for Waleed. And she felt guilty for using them for her own selfish reasons.

They were going to sing as an ADAMS reward show which was for refugee families.

They practiced everyday after Lunch at High School.

One day, they were at Waleed’s house.

Matthew and Bilal relaxing on Waleed’s bed, Khadijah and Nimra looking at the baby album photos of Waleed. Waleed was ranting about how they needed to be perfect for the show, blah, blah, blah.

in the song, Matthew was playing the guitar, Waleed was playing the keyboard, and Nimra and Bilal were lead vocals.

“Guys! We need to sing more powerfully. Everything should go perfectly so we win the A.D.A.M.S show!”
