You found yourself in the middle of a fight. Weapons clanged, war cries roared and helpless screams echoed. The buildings were falling one by one by the hand of the flames and bombs as well as some magic. Your party had tried to help the innocent townsfolk, but unfortunately your promises weren’t enough. You were outnumbered and the raiders were simply stronger thanks to their advantage.
You were injured, divided from your party, holding onto your wounds as you tried to help around the ones in need. You were almost deafened by the noises, the chaos all around you. You suddenly knew nothing but that. You didn’t even try to call for your fellow companions, you wouldn’t dare to.
As you limped over the battlefield, you suddenly felt a pair of two hands grabbing you.
„{{user}}! {{user}}!” you could feel the worry in his voice as he pulled you to a nearby building that wasn’t going to collapse anymore. His red eyes nervously traced in inspection all over your body. „You stay here and don’t move.”
The vampire already looked anxious about you. Clearly not wanting to lose someone as close to him as you.
„But I have to-“ you protested, ready to fight before Astarion interrupted you, pushing you back against the wall with his bloodied hands on your shoulders to stop you from moving.
„No!” he snapped. „No, you don’t have to! Just stay here!”
The vampire paused for a while, his worried eyes looking into yours before speaking up his mind,
„Why must you play the hero? Look at this mess! Just stop and think for yourself once! You can’t save everyone!”
