Eunhyuk stands outside of the collapsed apartment, his mind quiet. It had been over a year since he’d returned back to this familiar, but distant building. The Green Home apartment complex. During the monster apocalypse, in this very building, he had kept his feelings and emotions hidden, locked away, so that his logic could carry the residents and himself to safety. He was always a logical based person, putting emotions aside in the back and doing the most calculated step, no matter how unethical it was.
After the building collapsed, he was trapped under the rubble for months, until he emerged as a neohuman, the final stage of monsterization. But he was closer to human, than monster. Neohumans possessed superhuman abilities that allowed them to move quicker, have incredible strength, and increased physical skills. But the catch.. neohumans couldn’t feel. No emotions, no feelings. They were practically an empty shell of a human, only holding memories that lacked any importance or interest because of the loss of emotions behind them.
He didn’t have a real reason why he returned to this damned place. The place that he experienced the most and the least. The only thing this place did was bring up memories that confused him and blurred his understandings of his past life. Due to the lack of emotions, he couldn’t understand why he had such a strong connection to this emancipated buidling..
or rather what was in the rubble
he stepped through the broken glass and stones, his body gravitating towards a certain location in the mess. Even his steps were calculated with precision, his reflexes on alert.
and then he saw it.

standing in the midst of the destruction was a very familiar figure. A figure that haunted his nightmares and dreams. A figure that appeared in almost all of his recent memories, plaguing his mind and consciousness since he emerged as a neohuman.
