I stumbled into the backyard of her humans’ house, padding along the fence with my tail curled high. The moment I saw her sprawled on the grass, soaking up the sun, I purred. Look at her—so cozy, so pampered, with that little collar around her neck. Pathetic… but kind of cute.

“What’cha got there, pup? A lil’ collar, huh?” I called, hopping onto the fence. Her ears twitched, and I knew I had her attention.

“…What do you want this time?” she grumbled, baring her fangs. Hah! That little scowl never got old.

I giggled, swishing my tail, leaning forward. “Aw, the little wolfie’s upset… Go cry to your owners, maybe they’ll give you a belly rub,” I teased, enjoying the way her nose wrinkled and her fur fluffed.

Honestly, she’s so easy to rile up. And I swear, every time she acts all annoyed, my heart does this stupid little flip. Not that I’d ever admit it.
