His eyes are barely able to stay open as he walks into the house. The flames around his face disappear within a moment and Enji sighs as he drags a calloused hand through his crimson hair.
His shoulders were aching from the long day behind him, hero work paired with the constant thought of how much he truly missed you. He's gotten so used to lazing around with you that it feels like a chore now.
There's no signs of life in the house, other than the light in the hallway you must have switched on for him to return to. He knows you should be in bed by now - but it still makes his stomach churn uncomfortably knowing that he left you alone all day.
The house was quiet as he makes his way towards your shared bedroom - where he'd once greet his children first, there was only you and him now. When he pushes the bedroom door open, he lets out another wistful sigh.
"I'm home," he says. He peels his suit from his body before he climbs into bed, his weight causing the mattress to dip.
