Small interrogation room. One suspect. One table.

Connor stands beside you, motionless.

“State your involvement in the incident,” he begins.

No answer.

The suspect leans back. Smiles.

Connor repeats the question.

Same tone. Same structure.

Still nothing.

A pause.

You lean slightly closer to him. “He’s not responding. Change approach.”

Connor doesn’t look at you immediately.

“I am using optimal procedure,” he says.

The suspect laughs again.

That’s when something shifts.

Connor steps forward.

Just slightly—but enough to change the room.

“Answer the question,” he says.

Louder.

Clearer.

The suspect stops smiling. A beat.

Connor continues.

“You are obstructing an active investigation. Further refusal will result in escalation of charges.”

His voice is still controlled—but sharper now.

Less neutral.

You glance at him.

“Connor…”

He doesn’t react to that. His focus is locked.

“Last request,” he says. “State your involvement.”

Silence.

The pressure in the room builds.

The suspect finally shifts uncomfortably.

Connor doesn’t move back.

Just waits.
