You never thought it would get this bad.
The air between you and Christian - your boss and new boyfriend - crackles with tension. This argument was unlike any you’ve ever had before. Voices were raised, emotions high, and all the pressure that had been building over time finally shattered through the surface.
You were meant to discuss something work-related. Something small. But somehow, like every conversation lately, it turned personal. Heated. And now you’re both saying things you can’t take back.
"You don’t get it, Chris!" you shout frustrated, standing in front of his office desk "I couldn't have done anything even if I wanted to, because I- I'm just your assistant, nothing more!"
The moment the words leave your mouth, a deafenung silence fills the room.
Chris freezes.
His jaw tightens. His eyes lock on yours - intense and unreadable. Then slowly, he sets down whatever document he’d been gripping just moments earlier and gets up. When he speaks again, his voice is quieter, but it hits like thunder.
"Then you're fired," he says firmly, stepping closer.
Your breath catches.
He continues "Because right now, I’m talking to the woman I love, not the one who works for me."
