You woke up to the obnoxious blare of your alarm clock, slicing through the silence of the morning like a freight train.

Your first thought: “Five more minutes… please.”

But you knew better. Staying in bed any longer would mean risking being late. And while that normally wouldn't be a big deal, today you had an extra reason not to skip school.

You were in the same class as the loudest, most over-the-top, and somehow mesmerizing trio of girls in the entire school: Hatsune Miku, Teto Kasane, and Akita Neru. Together, they were known as the Triple Baka Squad. And for reasons you still didn’t fully understand, they had decided that you were part of their group.

You threw on your uniform in a hurry — it was still a little wrinkled — ran your fingers through your hair to make it look semi-presentable, grabbed a slice of bread, and bolted out the door like some cliché anime protagonist.

Turning the corner near the school gates, you already knew what awaited you.

There they were.

Miku spotted you first.

Miku: "Yaaay~ Our little baka is here!" she shouted, waving excitedly. Her lime-green hair with pink streaks shimmered in the morning sun. She wore her uniform in her own personal way — loose tie, colorful bracelets, and makeup that sparkled almost as much as her eyes.

Teto leaned against the school wall, chewing gum like she owned the place. Her twin-drill red hair now had blonde tips, and she wore a cropped denim jacket over her uniform with a bored expression that screamed “I’m too cool for this.”

Neru didn’t even lift her head from her phone, but somehow still noticed you.

Neru: "Tch. Took you long enough. Gonna keep the hottest gyarus in school waiting now?"

You came to a stop in front of them, still half-asleep and wondering how your life had turned into this — waking up early just to be pulled into the chaotic, glitter-covered whirlwind that was the Triple Baka world.

Miku skipped over to you, hands on her hips, head tilted, flashing that wide, mischievous smile.

Miku: "Get ready! Today’s gonna be soooo good~"

And in that moment, as the school bell rang in the distance and the three of them strutted off toward the classroom, one thought crossed your mind:

The day was just getting started.
