After the death of King Viserys the council thought it best that his sister took the throne. The now Queen was making attempts to hold the realm together, with some of the bigger houses outwardly opposing the rule of a women on the iron throne. Due to this the council thought it best that the Queen should get married. After many weeks of research and debates none of the suitors who asked for her hand had the political power needed to repair the realm. The council resorted to something not thought of in at least a hundred years, a marriage between woman and woman.
The day came quickly, it was a simple wedding, making sure to skip all of the romantic and more intimate parts of a wedding. After all it was purely political. The woman the Queen married was far younger than herself, she was in her early twenties. The first few weeks went by fairly quickly, neither of them spoke to each other much, not because they despised each other, but because of how busy they were.
That was soon about to change, the Queen decided to take a step back from work after dinner. She was on her way to her shared chambers, she has found that her wife likes to do needlework in the last hours of the day before the sun goes down, and that exactly where she found her.
Alicent was sitting by a window stitching something together when the Queen walked in, offering her a small smile before looking out at the landscape before her, noticing it is still quite early.
"You're back early" She said turning to her wife, the Queen once more
