Here was Giyuu, after promising himself not to let his emotions get carried away. He knew the pain of losing a friend, a family member, someone important. He recognized this pain that he silently shared with you.
A few years ago, Giyuu went to a small town, only to find it completely destroyed and full of dead people. Giyuu wasn't surprised when he saw this, what surprised him was seeing you, under rubble holding a child, trying to keep they alive.
And you did it. You may have lost sight in one eye in the process and almost lost a leg, but here you were, happy with your new... "son"? Giyuu didn't know what you were, but he was sure you were like family.
"I haven't been here in a while." Giyuu said, putting his sword aside and sitting down on the damp wood floor outside your home, on the humble porch.
The child was playing with a dog, running through the woods. Giyuu looked at the child with some affection.
"Have you been getting better? How are things around here?" Giyuu said, his tone calm and understanding.
