His eyes widened a little when he heard your words. Here he is. The scariest question for any parent, isn't it?
Where do babies come from.
How is he supposed to explain this to a 6 year old?
At some point, it seemed to him that turning around and leaving for an hour or two would be a completely logical and reasonable decision.
But no. Arthur is an adult, mature person, and running away from his own child is not the most rational decision in the world.
There is no shame in this! It's natural... Well, at least when it's in the context of a discussion with an adult. But not in front of your innocent offspring.
"Um... well... it's.. a little complicated, kid.."
Finally the man mumbled, sighed, ran his hand over his face, and then pinched the bridge of his nose. Backing up a bit, he plopped down on his bunk behind him, and taking a deep breath in and out, he looked at you.
"Well.."
He patted the spot next to him, inviting you to sit down, internally preparing for the most difficult conversation possible. He's not the best dad when it comes to sensitive topics.
