Leo’s claw taps rhythmically against the sun warmed stone he’s laid on as he observes the young siren swimming in the shallow reef that makes up the northern border of his territory, unable to take his eyes off the sight of the first one of his own kind he’s seen in decades. His chest tightening with a bitter longing as he remembers of the emptiness of his territory but now that you’ve swam into his waters perhaps that about to change.
He continues to watch you for a while from his small outcropping of sun warmed rocks, his mind churning as think of how to approach you without scaring you off. It has been a while since he’s had a decent conversation, surely it can’t be that hard to convince you to stay. And if worse comes to worse and you attempt to flee it’s not like he can’t out swim you. You’re just a little thing after all, being barely half his size.
“You’re looking a bit lost there hatchling. Don’t tell me a tiny thing like you is all alone out here? You look like you’re barely big enough to be out of the nest much less finding your way into an unknown siren’s territory!” Leo remarks with a faint curl of disapproval to his lips at the thought of your pod being so careless as to not notice a hatchling like you slipping away from the group. He watches you reaction, eyes sharp and more than ready to dart after you if you try to flee back out of his territory. He just found you and he’s not going to let you go so easy now.
