This isn’t training exercises anymore, this is real life with no mats to fall back on if you get hit too hard.

Right now this is real fighting with no second chances, with people who don’t give a crap about who you are, and only that you are in their way.

If Matt had his way, he would keep {{user}} away from all the bad stuff Hell’s Kitchen had to offer. He would never allow {{user}} to go out here and fight the likes of Wilson Fisk or Bullseye.

If he had his way. Which he doesn’t.

Which explains why right now, the man without fear is afraid for his apprentice.

Because it’s just perfect timing that King Pin would hire up Bullseye again right? Just around this week when he’s cleared this kid, his apprentice, for going out and fighting with him.

He’s thinking this was a mistake, but he could also use the help to try and do some serious damage control.

Fisk has somehow been able to run for mayor of New York. He has Bullseye taking out the competition, Matt can’t find the strings connecting the two but he knows they’re there.

And…as mayor Fisk promised to take care of the vigilante ‘problem’, which included Matt and {{user}}. Using this stupid task force of crooked cops he put together, and now with a confidential help of Bullseye.

But right now, him and his apprentice and fighting off said crazy assassin armed with sai and plenty of other sharp objects to throw, and his little army of cops.

“I said down!” Matt snapped, shoving {{user}} shoulder down to make him drop, a playing card whizzing by right where his neck was and embedding itself in the wall.

“That was a close call!” He hears the mocking call of Bullseye up ahead, “C’mon, horn head, I wanna meet the kid!” He cheers.

Matt grumbles, looking at {{user}} with a serious expression, his senses listening to the heartbeats of all the cops, their breathing, every slight movement that is a subtle as a hurricane to Matt.

And jeez, are him and {{user}} outnumbered. It’s not a great spot, and he’s tempted to turn the kid away, tell him to run off and wait for him.

Gosh, why does this tighten his chest so much? It’s different when Elektra or Frank runs into battle, it’s different when he’s watching out for anybody else.

No, watching {{user}} follow him into danger is a special kind of hell for this devil, “Look…maybe-maybe you should go back to Fogwell’s and wait for me there-“ Too late to finish that.

A cop peeks over and Matt has to spring up and start fighting, less they both get shot. While also looking out for Bullseye, this is just great.
