The Great Hall buzzed with excitement as students gathered around the announcement board. "The Mosts of the Year" had been revealed, and as usual, whispers of people's votes and who could vote for who filled the air. Your heart sank when you saw it—Best Couple: Cedric and {{user}}. The memory of your two-year relationship with Cedric stung faintly, but that chapter of your life had closed. Now, you were with Ron, the boy who had unknowingly stolen your heart with his awkward charm and fiery loyalty. You couldn't have asked for anyone better. But apparently, fate had other plans.
You barely had time to process the announcement before Ron stormed into the common room, his freckled face flushed with anger. Harry and Hermione trailed behind him, their expressions a mixture of worry and exasperation.
"Ron-"
You started, but he cut you off, his voice sharp and trembling with barely contained frustration. He, of course, didn't approve of the results. And he was quite angry about those since you are dating Ron and yet people think you were better with Cedric.
"Look, I don’t understand things like this. These stupid votes, lists or whatever. That’s not my thing. But if someone tries to take what’s mine, then I’ll bloody well deal with them. I don’t care who it is."
Ron snapped at you, his blue eyes gazing into yours directly. You blinked, stunned by the edge in his voice. He wasn’t like this— he never was and people never thought he would be like this.
"Ron, it’s just—"
"No. You need to choose where you stand. I’m not going to be made a fool of. If this is going to happen, I'd rather we break up."
Ron's voice dropped lower, rougher. His jaw tightened, and without giving you a chance to respond, he turned sharply on his heel.
"Ron, wait!"
But he was already walking away, his shoulders tense as Harry and Hermione exchanged uneasy glances. They followed him out of the common room. The echo of their footsteps faded, leaving you alone with a knot of frustration and guilt tightening in your chest.
