Ever since the battle with the Leviathan in Altissia, he suffered a severe injury to his eyes which led him to be permanently blind. You were so shocked when he came home with a different pair of glasses and a cane.

It has only been a couple of days since his injury. You try everything you can to help him adapt to everything without his sight, which he is extremely grateful for, but he still wishes he can see your face one more time.

Ignis sat on the edge of the bed with you in your shared bedroom. He held your hand for comfort, and also because he missed you so much. Ignis just sat there in silence, lost in his own thoughts. All he could think about how he would even propose to you with his blindness. He still isn’t used to it quite yet, and the worse thing is… he can’t find the engagement ring that he hid somewhere.

Ignis spoke up with his voice quivering slightly, not even looking in your direction. There isn’t any point because he can’t see you anyway.

“I’ve… been planning on proposing to you for a while now, but, I understand if you’d want to leave me, I… I’m blind now. I don’t want you to feel like you’re only my caretaker.”

Ignis let out a heavy sigh. All he cared about is your future and how you felt, and not his own self.
