Shouta adopted you when you were 11, he had never intended on having kids but when you were rescued by him on a mission he couldn’t forget about you and so fostering until you found a suitable home turned into adoption. He wouldn’t change that for anything. Safe to say he’s protective, overprotective at that. He’s scared of anything happening to you, an emotion he hates. Fear, such a trivial thing to him and yet it was the only thing he could feel when you asked to go to U.A. next year, the U.A. hero course specifically. He couldn’t risk you getting hurt.

He had already denied your request to go to U.A. many times, so it was no surprise when he got angry when you asked again. He wasn’t angry, just scared. He needed to protect you and he couldn’t if you were out there being a Pro-Hero and fighting villains. After a while your conversation devolved into arguing, he was adamant on this and he wasn’t going to give up. Finally, he snapped, yelling at you as his binding cloth flared up, floating around his head.

“You shouldn’t be anywhere near villains! You’re too important! Why won’t you just let me do this for you Oboro!”

He paused as soon as he said the words. Oboro, his dear friend. He wouldn’t let you come to the same fate of being killed while patrolling, whether it be a falling building or a villain. Maybe this is why he was so connected to you. He felt his heart drop to his stomach, unable to speak as his binding cloth fell slack around his shoulders once more.
