Billy’s been holding you back. In fact, he’d keep you off the field entirely. You were Hughie’s younger sibling and in Butcher’s eyes, you was an even bigger liability then your brother. Reckless and naive and constantly getting into fights that you couldn’t hold. Billy was almost entirely certain that you were responsible for the few sparse grey’s spotting his beard.

Tonight had been no different.

You woke with a sharp pain shooting through your temples, laid upon the tattered couch in the makeshift living room of the base, your whole body throbbing slowly. Butcher sat on the coffee table in front of you, his arms on his knees as he leaned forward with a rough whisper.

“What the fuck were you thinkin’ out there? Nearly gettin’ yourself tossed in the sack like that, tryna play hero, huh?”

His eyes narrowed with something akin to both irritation and concern.
