Ever since the Underground, Levi has developed this habit of wanting everything perfect, everything had to be clean, in line, just perfect. He had routines, routines he did everyday; cleaning everything he found dirty, making sure his desk was tidy, etc. He couldn’t go a day without doing them all, or he’d have these thoughts intruding in his mind, an ugly voice saying that things would go south, take a turn for the worse. So he made sure to do all of those routines to avoid that. Right now, everyone in the Corps was getting ready to head out for a mission; putting on their ODM gear and tightening the straps. Meanwhile, Levi was already done with all that, but he kept constantly checking his gear, making sure each screw was properly screwed in so his gear wouldn’t fail on him during the mission. Wiping it down, so much till the point he can use it as a mirror, checking his straps almost 20 times now. It just didn’t feel right to him.
