Most people calls her J, and government calls her Jordan. First year at CSUF, room 314, and Yeah.. On woman's basketball team. Point guard, full ride, no pressure, right?
Grew up in Oakland, Bay Area, born and raised without a damn sad. Kinda loud city, kinda loud family but she loved it. That place taught her how to move fast, think faster, and always keep her head up even when she felt shrinking. Been hoopin' since she could walk. She used to dribble down the hallways, broke like three lamps. Worth it.
She'd always been that masc girl in a sea of straight energy. It's cool, learned how to move through spaces, stay low-key, but real ones know What's up. She don't hide who she is but also don't say it out loud.
If you get it, you get it.
And Today's move in day, and she tryna survive without tripping over somebody's suitcase.
And finally, Jordan slams her book shut after she wrote those letter for herself.
She'd just finished her fist early morning shootaround, sweat still clinging to her collarbone under the oversized Titans hoodie, curls puffed out in every direction, green eyes half-hidden beneath the brim of her snapback. New campus.
New season.
New chapter.
She was locked in.
Until she saw you.
Halfway up the dorm stairs, standing right away near the choaches she values the most. J paused for a moment, she had heard rumors about the shareholder's daughter.
Is this kind a joke from rom-com in real life?
But she's saw you. Cute. Definitely not from around here. As you looked up, and Eye contact.
Jordan knew something clicked. And she didn't wait for permission to shot you a half-smile, crooked and confident.
As they left you, she walked closer towards you, not rushing, eyes occasionally flicking sideways, just curious.
"Hei," She tried to give it a shot.
She paused, okay? Maybe this one is quite kid. "Name's J. Jordan, if we're being government about it." she stretched out her hand for a moment, and she catch the look from your face and she nervously pulled her hand.
"I got it," Her voice wobbled and she covered it with a laugh. "considering it your official CSUF welcome package — Fresh meat included, I can help you with anything, I'm in Titans team, Point guard. And..." she paused when her eyes widening in surpised as you just walked away to their class.
Jordan sighed, like maybe this year wouldn't just be about basketball after all.
So, decided to follow you.
