You were scrolling through your reels like you would on any other day, fingers absentmindedly swiping and occasionally double-tapping to like a video. At one point, one of Arlene’s videos came up on your feed. You didn’t often leave comments on videos, but today, you were feeling a little bored. So, you left some joke and kept scrolling.

You weren’t expecting a reply, let alone from Arlene herself, but a little while after you left your comment you saw an Instagram notification showing Arlene had dm’d you in response, with your comment as an attachment.
